10/8/2006

It's been a busy week at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.

It started out Sunday with communion at Morning Worship. During the service, we did a "backward" offering where we passed around baskets and had people take something out. In the basket were packets of seed cards for people to distribute throughout the week. We'll have a different card set each week during the month of October.

We had a small group at Kids' Church. The group drew out the story of Elisha and the woman from Shunem.

With just a few minutes before Evening Worship was to start I was the only one there. Everyone showed up together at the very last minute. Afterward we had communion with the young adult group.

I got a call on Monday saying that Betty had died. Visitation was on Tuesday and Wednesday and I had the funeral on Thursday. She was related to many people who have been a part of the congregation over the years.

With 131 kids at SonRisers on Wednesday we ran out of donuts. It's only the second time we've had that happen in the 5+ years we've been doing this. It did not break a record, though, as two years ago we had a Wednesday with 137 kids. Wednesday night's Adult Disciples group continued its study of the Gospel of Mark.

We had lots of rain but just a few kids at Pizza Church on Friday.

Bryce, LB, and I went to Friendly's for ice cream on Saturday evening. The kids had each earned a trip there through their good attendance at church activities. Later that night Danny and I set up the font and rearranged the church for Sunday's services.

Looking ahead to next week we have our full schedule of activities. We have a baptism and three baby blessings scheduled for Sunday morning. In addition we have our monthly Solid Rock Cafe next Saturday evening.

Along with the individuals and activities mentioned, please keep the following individuals in the forefront of your prayers:

Jeniah
