7/1/2006

It's been a busy couple of weeks at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.

It started out Sunday, June 18, with our three services. We had smaller groups throughout the day as people attended Father's Day gatherings with their families. After Evening Worship Ron visited for a while with one of our young adults about working at the hospital.

On Monday the Andersons went to visit family in Michigan. The crew here kept all the activities going throughout that week.

That Saturday, Edith brought the labyrinth up and prepared to lead people through the activity. Unfortunately, the torrential rains in the area kept people away that day. Edith kept it set up and had people walk it as a part of the service on Sunday morning. It was described as "The best sermon I never heard."

We returned to Baltimore late the next Tuesday night. The rest of the week was filled with tracking down the final signatures on camp forms, paying the bills (which ALL came while we were gone), and a variety of other catching-up things. Of course, we had all our regular activities like Adult Disciples and Pizza Church, too.

We had planned to start our "summer reading" plan in Adult Disciples by beginning The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe together. Unfortunately, the delivery of our books was mixed up and they did not arrive here on time. We received them on Friday so we'll begin next week.

Tamara and Jenn put in a lot of time and energy in finalizing the plans for Junior High Camp. This is their first year in directing that camp and they've put together what appears to be an impressive program. They packed up and headed to Virginia with all their supplies on Saturday.

Looking ahead to next week we will basically have our regular schedule of activities. We won't be having Kids' Church on Sunday, though, since we will have left to take kids to camp by the time it is scheduled to start. In addition we'll be covering some graffiti that was put on one of our murals and putting together the plan for our upcoming Bible School. We'll also be distributing fliers reminding people of the summer schedule of youth activities at the church. We pick up the kids at camp next Saturday morning.

Along with the individuals and activities mentioned, please keep the following individuals in the forefront of your prayers:
