4/28/2007

It's been a busy week at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.

It started out Sunday with Morning Worship. We had a good group and talked about the idea of "Resurrected Living" in light of Romans 12. We studied the story of Thomas with a small group at Kids' Church. The group gathered for Evening Worship was rather quiet, too.

Nearly 70 kids participated in this Wednesday's SonRisers activities. That evening at Adult Disciples we started our study of the book of James.

On Thursday I went to Virginia. I was able to pick up a couple pieces of exercise equipment to bring back to the church. After that I met with Dave, our Mission Center President, over lunch. I was also able to pick up some electronics my in-laws gave to Damon while he was at World Conference that Dave had transported back with him in his car.

That evening while Men's Group was meeting the new NA group met at the church for the first time. This group has met together for several years but has been homeless for the past couple of months. They were excited to have a place to meet and to see each other again.

We received a few more donations for camperships this week. We are now about 1/4 of the way to our goal with less than two months to go.

Friday night brought Pizza Church. We had good attendance at all three groups. The third group was having a hard time paying attention to the DVD lesson so when it ended we just replayed it. They behaved the second time through.

After Pizza Church Tamara and Jenn went over to the Dundalk congregation to help a bit with their "30 Hour Famine" program. Tamara spent much of the day Saturday there as well.

On Saturday morning Jenn and I went out to find her a car to replace the one that was wrecked. We were able to get her back on the road and still have time for her to get to some of the activities at Dundalk.

Saturday night brought our monthly Sundae Church. The kids plowed into the ice cream like there was no tomorrow. Afterward Jenn, Tamara, and I had a good visit and caught up on the weekend's activities.

Looking ahead to next week we'll have our regular schedule of activities. In addition, next Saturday is our Mission Center conference. I'll also begin distributing camp forms and hunting down parent signatures throughout the week.
