11/18/2006

It's been a busy week at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.

It started out Sunday with our three services. We had a smaller than expected group at Morning Worship during which we talked about being prepared to be blessed. At Kids' Church we finished our "Draw the Bible" series with the story of Joseph. We tried a new seating configuration for Evening Worship and decided right away that it wasn't a good arrangement.

Woody and Gloria brought the wood for the new cross over to the church on Tuesday. While there the builder came by to investigate the leak. After over an hour of spraying portions of the exterior they discovered where the problem was and devised a plan. They'll be back once things dry out to make the necessary repairs.

90 kids joined us for SonRisers on Wednesday morning. That evening Dave came up from Virginia to represent the mission center at our business meeting. During the meeting we elected officers and approved the budget for 2007.

After the meeting Karen asked if she could add her name to the delegate list for World Conference. This was a huge step for her as she's never been that far away from Baltimore before and she's never been on an airplane as well. This could be quite an adventure for her.

A big storm blew through town on Thursday. We lost electricity for a while and in the end cancelled men's group for the night because of it.

Friday night brought Pizza Church. I forgot about sending out text message reminders until the last minute so it didn't have much of a response.

Looking ahead to next week we have and adjusted schedule of activities due to Thanksgiving. As is tradition here for the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we'll have a dessert potluck after Evening Worship. In addition Len Young will join us for Evening Worship to share with us about what's happening with the church in Russia. We will not have Adult Disciples or Men's Group this week to allow time for travel, preparation, and celebration of Thanksgiving. Saturday is our monthly Sundae Church.

Along with the individuals and activities mentioned, please keep the following individuals in the forefront of your prayers:
