It's been a busy week at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.
It started out Sunday with our three services. I finished up a series on Alma 12 with
the story of King Lamoni and relating it to 2 Corinthians 2:14-16. During Kids' Church
we learned that we're vessels of the Holy Spirit then decorated drinking glasses with
permanent ink to remind us of this. Danny was in charge of the devotions at Evening
Worship.
Onalee and I met with the contractor and architect on Monday morning. We hammered out
some details and made sure we were all on the same page. Later in the week we were able
to bring Brad back on board to help with the technical supervision of the project.
We didn't have SonRisers this Wednesday due to the schools being closed for teacher
in-service. That evening at Adult Disciples we discussed the second half of the book of
Exodus.
We had our monthly priesthood meeting Thursday evening. We spent quite a bit of the time
in the meeting working on the plans for our 10th anniversary celebration this coming
April. Along with other smaller issues we also worked on further guidelines for
selecting kids to go this summer to the International Youth Festival in Independence,
Missouri, and Spectacular at Graceland University.
Earl Hansel, the oldest member of our congregation, died at his home Friday afternoon.
As of this writing funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
Friday night brought Pizza Church. Jenn taught the first two groups the story of Jesus
feeding 5000. I lead the senior high group in their continued study of the Gospel of
John.
Looking ahead to next week we have our full schedule of activities. Ron Gillilan will be
bringing the communion message Sunday morning and Jenn will lead in the devotions Sunday
night. We'll most likely have a funeral sometime during the week. Next Saturday Danny
and I will participate in the Mission Center Leadership Team meeting in Springfield,
Virginia.
Along with the individuals and activities mentioned and the continued progress on our
building project, please keep the following individuals in the forefront of your prayers:
