It's been a busy week at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.
It started out Sunday with over 50 people at Morning Worship. During the service we had
a baby blessing. A few of those gathered were experiencing some claustrophobia with the
size of the crowd and at least one got up and talked about leaving. We had a relatively
short service and all were able to stay to the end.
At Kids' Church we made invitations to give to our friends so that they would come to
church with us. They were in the form of refrigerator magnets so that our friends would
have the schedule available.
Tamara lead the devotions during Evening worship. A lot of the teens who normally come
to that service didn't attend but most of our adults did.
We started selling tickets for our upcoming banquet. It is scheduled for Saturday, April
16. This is a part of the celebration of our 10th anniversary of the church in Pigtown.
We received our final bid on the building project this week. There's a sizable gap
between the money we have available and the total costs. There's a realization that the
price we've got on this bid is probably the best one we'll ever get so we're exploring
options and hoping that this will happen.
Nearly 90 kids participated in SonRisers this week. That evening during Adult Disciples
our study of the book of Joshua evolved into a discussion of current fighting in that
region and some of the root causes of it.
We had good sized groups at all three Pizza Church sessions. Mike taught the two
youngest groups and I taught the senior highs.
Looking ahead to next week we have our full schedule of activities. In addition, I'll be
leading the Young Adult CORE group through a personality survey on Sunday night. We'll
be distributing fliers inviting people to participate in our Easter celebrations. On
Thursday evening we'll be showing the movie "The Passion of the Christ" at 8:00
p.m. Between noon and 3:00 p.m. on Good Friday the church will be open for prayer and
meditation. Danny will lead the devotions during Evening Worship and we'll be meeting
with the builder to pick out brick colors on Wednesday.
Along with those individuals and activities mentioned as well as the continued progress
on our building project, please keep the following people in the forefront of your
prayers:
