It's been a busy week at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.
It started out Sunday with our three services. During Morning Worship we studied
Ephesians 6:10-20. The kids at Kids' Church made picture holders for Mother's Day gifts.
With an abundance of prayer concerns, we skipped the message during Evening Worship and
went straight into prayer time after our season of praise.
We spent quite a bit of time on the phone and on line working out the final details and
clarifying contract issues with the builder and church headquarters this week. If I
understand correctly, the contract is signed and in transit. The contractor hopes to
have the project staked out by the end of next week.
We were just short of 100 kids at SonRisers on Wednesday morning. That evening at Adult
Disciples the group discussed the books of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther.
Several months ago we bought a new garbage can. We had a wind storm the first time we
used it and hadn't seen it since. Somehow it magically reappeared on our steps this week
in like-new condition. I hope it had a good vacation.
My parents arrived from Michigan on Wednesday. They came down to celebrate my graduation
and will be here through the weekend. The ceremonies were at the seminary on Thursday
evening.
Friday brought Pizza Church. Since this weekend marks the Pentecost celebrations all
three groups studied the same text from Acts 2.
Saturday brought our monthly Solid Rock Cafe. The kids seemed especially noisy but had a
good time while they were there. As they got ready to leave we experienced a
thunderstorm with quite a downpour. The empty pizza boxes from the previous night
suddenly became valuable umbrellas that the kids grabbed on their way out.
Looking ahead to next week we have our full schedule of activities. In addition, we
received this year's camp forms via email while I was typing this letter so we'll begin
seeking out signatures.
Along with the individuals and activities mentioned as well as the continued progress on
our building project, please keep the following people in the forefront of your prayers:
Billy
Bobby
Christy
Katelin
Ashley
Anthony
Terry
Jordan
Thank you for your continued prayer support.
