It's been a busy week at the Power House in Baltimore, Maryland.
It started out Sunday with our three services. The message at Morning Worship revolved
around the story of Pentecost. At Kids' Church we made flame hats to remember the Holy
Spirit's coming as fire. We used the article in the Herald that mentions our
congregation as a part of our Evening Worship in talking about planting seeds of the
gospel.
On Monday morning Onalee and I drove back to Michigan with my parents. While I was gone
things continued as normal. 98 kids participated in SonRisers on Wednesday morning.
That evening Jenn lead the discussion about the book of Job at Adult Disciples.
Tamara taught the lessons at the first two Pizza Church sessions on Friday night while
Jenn lead the third. I had planned to be there for all three but my flight back was
delayed so I missed part of the first session. I handed out some camp forms that night
and will begin following up with home visits throughout the week next week.
According to the emails I picked up once I got back, we learned that there isn't a
current survey on file for our property. The builder needs this to begin his work.
Everything is delayed while a surveyor is secured and the funding for his services is
found.
On Saturday Tamara, Jenn, and I attended a youth ministers meeting at the Laurel
congregation. That afternoon Jenn participated in the camp planning meeting.
Several members of the congregation helped with a car wash on Saturday. It was to
benefit Violet's son Jerry who has mounting medical bills due to his continuing
treatments for leukemia. They were having a good time and working hard to make a
difference.
Looking ahead to next week we have our full schedule of activities. In addition we'll be
spending quite a bit of time and energy on getting the paperwork together for camp.
Along with the individuals and activities mentioned as well as continued progress on our
building project, please keep the following families in the forefront of your prayers:
the Riddick family
the Handy family
the Holden family
the Latham family
the Bunner family
the Paige family
the Barrett family
the Smith family
Thank you for your continued prayer support.
